After arriving a Huerta Memorial hospital, I have a choice. I can bring my old friend Dr. Chakwas aboard the Normandy, or I can ask her to enjoy her retirement for once and bring aboard Dr. Chloe Michel to serve as my ships doctor instead. Michel, is there any long term difference that comes from bringing one or the other of the two doctors aboard? If you pick Doctor Chakwas you find out her first name and you will share another bottle of Serrice Ice Brandy if you shared one in ME2.

However, if Shepard decides not to assign a squadmate to the task, Dr. Chakwas and any other survivors will be killed en route to the Normandy. I have played through the entire trilogy and beaten the trilogy once, and know enough to know what to expect for the most part. This time around I will more than likely make some changes Everything else will stay the same for me as far as making the key choices.

I had her for one of my playthroughs and my oldest save, brought since ME1 , because i had Chakwas and the Normandy crew killed on ME2 oops. That save was not my first save to be imported to ME3, though. And comparing with getting Chakwas, all I can say is it didn't make a big of a difference as I imagined. Just different dialogue and some interations between her and Adams and then Garrus. But I realize that added war assets is also important for the over all war effort.

My more hard-nosed Shepard, when I get to them, may choose otherwise. Chakwas is rather soft-hearted compared to Michel, when it comes to attachment. But when it comes down to it, most people who 'pick' Michel, are doing it because Chakwas died in ME2.
